Col. Sanders? Is That You?
20 April 2005

The other day Owen came down with an extremely high fever. How high exactly, I couldn't rightly say, since I never did purchase one of those digital ear thermometers and he was so sick and distraught I couldn't get him to sit still long enough to put the regular thermometer in his mouth or armpit long enough to get a reading.

Anyway, he'd had a fever most of Sunday, and early Sunday evening he woke up from a restless nap screaming and crying, and he was absolutely on fire from head to toe. We stripped off his pajamas to find he was beet red — If I had to guess, I'd say he was pushing about 103 or 104 temp. So we plunked him into a tepid bath (thank god for grandmothers — Jacquie was here at the time) and managed to get some Tylenol down him at the same time and the fever came down tremendously. For those of you taking notes: tepid baths work wonders for fevers.

That was Sunday. He seems to be feeling better as of yesterday (Tuesday) — last night when he was taking his bath before bed, he accidently got soap suds on his face and made a beard. We thought this was so hilarious, we had to take a picture of it.
